Error when trying to upload files "upload feature inhibited "

I have read all other threads but am still plagued by this problem. I cannot upload to the assets folder, images folder, etc...:

1. The assets folder as well as the assets/images folder are both set to 777 and owned by the ftp user

2. I have checked to be sure that the paths in modx are correct:
Tools->configuration->Interface & Features->resource URL
Tools->configuration->Interface & Features->Resource path
Tools->configuration->file manager->

3. The file upload option on the server is set to ON

Are you ising the admin account you setup during install or a new one? If the latter, have you checked the upload boxes under that user?

I went back and checked it. User error.

I had another folder on my website called images, so I was attempting to upload to the wrong folder to begin with.

Ahh yes, that’s one of my favourites...create an image folder in assets/templates/someTemplate/ and upload to assets/images and spend an age looking for it.
