Hi,
This must be a silly question for you pro guys but I am still new to modx cms. I am using modx evo 106 because it gives me all the cms power I need. However, I am coming from a wysiwyg webeditor where I could position all elements with drag and drop on a webpage. For example pictures and menus and buttons could be moved with the mouse in wysiwyg edit mode until they where exactly on the position of the page where I wanted them. This was done with div tags and absolute positioning Tiny MCE doesn't have this drag and drop wysiwyg edit mode, so what would be the best way to go from here ? Do I have to copy and paste the html code generated with the wysiwyg webeditor into TinyMCE ? Can I use chunks to position elements on an exact position on a webpage ? Do I have to forget about div tags with absolute positioning and learn how to do this with css instead ? What is the correct way to do this in Modx cms ? Thanks in advance for replying on this. Greetings Brian.

CSS is the way to go. You want to separate presentation (positioning and styling) from content (the HTML).

This article was written in 2004, so you can see that this design principle goes back some years.
MODx allows for further separation of structure (HTML elements in the template) and content (the text, images and such that vary from page to page). So ideally resource content would only have minimal structural elements such as p, img, a, ul/li, and other tags to directly structure the content.
Thanks Susan Sottwell for your reply. I have come across a lot of helping out articles from you on the net, you seem to be very active on the net. And Yes I have put my self in the schoolbanks and are studying css. You're right about css because it seems that table and html position formatting is flagged to become deprecated in the near future.
Greetings Brian.
