MySQL 4.024?

What are the issues with using a MySQL version less than 4.1.x? Can I use 4.0.24 at all? If so, what are the limitations, workarounds, etc?

I have to offer that you’d be better off getting a more recent release of MySQL, but it should work. I haven’t tested MODx on that version personally, so I won’t officially proclaim support for it, but if you do experience any problems with that version of MySQL, they can likely be addressed.

Maybe we need a gomysql5 initiative, too.

ok, thanks. i was able to convince the client to let me host his site, so that’s not an issue, but good to know anyway.

I run MODx in MySQL < 4.1.x environment and don’t have any problems with the current version..
