cant change php.ini for suhosin or safemode

when i install a new version of modx, i get a problem.

It says i need to turn off safe mode in the php.ini, and set suhosin to 4096

Now my provider doesnt allow me to update and change php.ini files.

How can i deal with this issue?

While they are in there, have them turn off both register_globals and magic_quotes if they aren't off alteady.
Check settings in modx manager, reports, system info. Php.ini info button near top.
