    1. I installed TinyMCE.
    2. In the 'Input Options' tab of a TV I selected 'RichText'.
    3. The TinyMCE editor shows up but it's only 200px x 100px; pretty small.
    4. Going back to the TV I chose 'Output Options' and selected 'RichText' and left the default settings.
    5. There was no change in the editor width even after Flushing and logging out/in.

    Is it not possible to set the size of the editor?

    Revo 2.2.4 and TinyMCE 4.3.2

    Thanks
      Todd

      The "Output Options" is for what is seen on the front-end, the final web page. It is the processed output value of the TV, and has nothing to do with what is seen in the Manager when editing a resource.

      The size of your editing field is odd, I get 670px x 330px.

        In the file richtext.class.php I found these lines
                $w= !empty($params['w']) ? $params['w'] : '100%';
                $h= !empty($params['h']) ? $params['h'] : '400px';

        I would have presumed that creating a property set for the TV would enable changing these "w" and "h" values, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

          On the properties tab of the TinyMCE plugin there's a height and a width property. I've also noticed that the input field is usually resizable by dragging the lower right-hand corner, and IIRC, it remembers the size.

            Unfortunately that applies to the resource editing field. The TV RTE field is done separately.

            Yes, depending on the browser, any textarea-based field can be resized from a drag trigger.

              It's also not possible to resize by dragging.

              Something else to add to the list of things I can't fix.

              Thanks guys.

                TinyMCE is a constant pain. I spent a couple of weeks getting Tiny to size TVs properly in NewsPublisher (which you might try, BTW -- just put the name of the TV in the &show property and &initrte=`1`).

                  It sure seems to be.

                  Oh how I wish there more more viable RTE options for MODX besides the current two or three. XStandard, for example.

                    Todd,

                    Are all the editors this small, or is the content editor a proper size and the TV's are the tiny field?

                    Are the resources static as well?

                    I've noticed static resource TV's set to rich text display like you describe. It's annoying.

                      Thanks for your suggestion.

                      The content editor had RichText disabled but out of curiosity I enabled it and it is indeed the proper size .
                      Also, the TVs are not static, though all of my Chunks are, if that matters.

                      But here's a new twist: The small Tiny editor only affects the 'Template Variables' tab of main Articles container, or in my case the 'Blog' container. Only the RTE in those TVs are too small, everywhere else it appears to be fine.
