    This issue has been addressed but not sufficiently for my needs, here's the situation:
    1) MODX Revolution 2.2.4-pl (traditional)
    2) template variable (input type tag) providing a number of keywords for tagging article
    3) On a news page I have a drop down box setup that pulls in all available tags within a form (post).
    4) I have getresources setup to bring in all the resources I need, with &tvFilters=`tags==[some value]`

    The question I have is that if I put a specific tag in the 'some value' are it works fine and filters out the results. But how do I retrieve the submitted value for the drop down box to populate 'some value' which would enable users to filter the results based on their desired tag?

      worked it out shortly after posting the above but have only remembered to post the solution, its quite simple really.

      Pulled all of he tags into a select box, then built a snippet which grabbed the select choice from the form -
      $country = $_POST["name_of_your_select"];
      echo $country;

      then just pulled the snippet into a getresources filter (with some addtional options to remove spacing)

      &tvFilters=`tags_regions==%[[!name_of_your_snippet:strip:replace=`".==.`]]%'
