Image insertion plugin

Has anybody else wished that there were a simple image insertion plugin? The only use I have for TinyMCE is its image insertion feature. Well, its link insertion is also nice. Other than that, it just makes a nuisance of itself. So would an image/link insertion plugin be of interest?

The plugin would have to be media source aware (for files or images), as well as have a link list for inserting internal links.

Revo has its own file browser, would this be a viable browser for such a plugin?
