Can't Uninstall/Remove Add-ons

I installed Articles but it didn't install correctly so I tried to first uninstall then Force Remove it with the intention of reinstalling but clicking Uninstall or Remove does nothing, it's as though the buttons are disabled. This problem also affects getResources. Not sure what to do. Can I manually delete the packages or is that asking for trouble?

First, try logging out, deleting all files in the core/cache directory, clearing your browser cache and cookies, and logging back in -- then try removing the package again.

That said, I had a similar problem with Articles and I ended up manually removing the components, wading through the DB to delete the final pieces of it, and then deleting the DB record for the package and the package file. I have since re-installed Articles and it is working fine, so I think this was a problem with an early version.

Just deleting the package file by itself will confuse Package Manager because the package will still be in the modx_transport_packages table in the DB and the namespace, lexicon entries, system settings, category, and elements may still be around.

Your suggestion worked and I was able to remove and reinstall, but while everything appears to be working ok there were still a bunch of (re)installation errors (XPDO etc.), though I got the "Successfully installed" message anyway. I'm not sure if I should be concerned about the errors or just ignore it.

If you didn't delete the articles tables or fields, when you re-install it tries to re-create them. If you saved the output it'll say it couldn't create the field cuz it already exists. Not usually an issue. See how Articles performs.

The last two times I installed Articles, I made sure to install Quip and getResources first. After having issues previously (in 2.2.0), this seemed to work well enough so far. Just precautionary.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to keep this in mind the next I install Articles.
