When trying to install the Polls package through the ModX Manager, the console appears and I see:

Attempting to preserve files at /var/www/www.pointclouds.org/core/components/polls into archive /var/www/www.pointclouds.org/core/packages/polls-1.3.0-pl/modCategory/47b47bbcb397191a2a572f416a3ebcc3.1.preserved.zip
Workspace environment initiated, now installing package...
Attempting to install package with signature: polls-1.3.0-pl
Attempting to preserve files at /var/www/www.pointclouds.org/assets/components/polls into archive /var/www/www.pointclouds.org/core/packages/polls-1.3.0-pl/modCategory/47b47bbcb397191a2a572f416a3ebcc3.0.preserved.zip
Package found...now preparing to install.
and it just stays like that indefinitely. Any ideas why that would happen?

If you refresh the page, did the package install?

Is CURL enabled? If not, enable it. Check the php.ini (Menu bar ->reports-> system info - then a small button at the top "view php info")
Yep:
Curl support: enabled
Curl information: 7.19.7
