    Hi,

I don't know which tool should I use to filter a project list.

As you can see on this page:
    http://design.i-city.de/dummy/iecn/projectsList.html

on the left column there is a list of projects and on the right column a filters tool. This tool re-organize the page displaying the filter's criteria. My first idea to create the filters tool was to use getResources and TVs (to create the data filters).

    But now I'm unsure.

Can anybody please help me to decide how to solve this problem?

    Thank you in advance.

Maybe tagLister is the solution. The project list can use it to display the projects with a specific tag. I will try it.

That's a tough one. I think the most common method would be to use JavaScript to hide and show portions of the page.

          Thanks Bob.

Are you sure that MODx can't filter the list? I mean, seams like the CMS can sort tags (using tagLister), but it does not work for me, because "tags" that this site use are pre-defined using @RESOURCE bindings. I appreciate your answer.

My CMS version: MODX Revolution 2.2.4-pl (traditional).

Thanks for buying my book! smiley

I didn't mean to imply that TagLister and/or getResources wouldn't do it. I just meant that you might want to create several divs, each with its own getResource or TagLister call and use JS to show just one of them (and toggle the others to be invisible) when a user selects one of your filter buttons.

That way the user could switch very rapidly between the various views and the initial page load would still be fairly fast because the whole page could be cached.
