Answered Uploading allowed file types...not allowed

    Low Down:
    MODx 1.0.4
    PHP 5.2.17
    MySQL 5.0.95

    Issue 1

    Within assets/files I have two new folders (777) "pdf" & "software". When I try to upload to 'software', a zip file (less then 1MB) it gives the good old "Uploading of this kind of file is not allowed!"

    Under Tool -> Config -> File Manager: Uploadable File Types, 'zip' is listed in addition to another file type I need 'img'

    All users are globally using the default system configs for uploading files, etc.

    Issue 1a

    Like the issue above, when using TinyMCE to try to link/upload files, when navigating to the new folders (pdf/software) they are empty via the browsing interface; though there are files within those folders.

      Is this Evo? IIRC Evo's uploadable file type extensions are case sensitive so if the extension is Pdf or PDF it won't work. Additionally, there is no such file type as img for uploads as it only checks the extensions. Not sure how Evo handles mime types with regard to TVs.

        Both the listing for uploadable file types & the file itself of 'zip'. The IMG file format is one of the following files: A CD or DVD image file, essentially equivalent to an ISO file

          Right. I completely wasn't thinking a disc image file I was thinking mime type for some reason. There should be no reason you can't add the .img or .IMG or any variation. You'll certainly have to watch the file size limitations. Any indication in the error logs on the server or just feedback from MODX?

            Clean error log - nothing of relevance to file uploading. I can make a video real quick to show the issues I'm seeing.

              Actually, what I meant were the server php error logs not the modx logs.

                  Oh? Can you share your video? (ideally site developers should be able to access php logs for a server for debugging but I understand it's not always possible)

                      No clue. I wish I could be of help. Not sure if there is are server limits. (I doubt it).


                      Any reason site's not on 1.0.6? (I ask with guilty knowledge I have client sites on 0.9.6.3)
