Sub-submenus not working after initinal view - clear cache in manager works once only

Just lost this whole post... darn forum is too fast now and I couldn't stop the page reloading :~}

Server Type Debian
MySQL Version 4.1.22
PHP 5.3 - recently upgraded from 4.9

register_globals and magic_quotes both off.

Issue1:
Sub-submenu only works once upon initial page load after clearing the cache from the manager. Clearing the core/cache manually doesn't seem to work.

Process:
Clear cache in manager, load page, sub-submenus work great. Click to another page, sub-submenus fail completely. Nothing upon hover, and the source doesn't even show the children's children. Top and 2nd level menus work just fine, always. Clear cache again, first load shows sub-submenus... rinse and repeat...

Issue2:
The manager logs me out incessantly, all the time. Says my session expired. Sometimes it throws me back to login page, sometimes I get an error and a new pop-up login screen within the manger. I have to reload the page to get manager menus to work (such as clear cache).

Meeting with client tomorrow morning. She'll be so impressed with MODX. Grumble...

Any ideas on the submenus?

Bump - could really use some help here. I've got less than two hours to fix one, or both of these issues.

Noticing more inconsistencies now.

I've got an identical Wayfinder call on the page. Actually two. One simply calls Wayfinder, uncached with a resource ID set to the sub page (level two - child).

Second call is pulled from the main menu call, an exact duplicate except I've changed the ID to the page it's displayed on (level two - child)

Process:
Clear cache from manager (logs me out, I log back in, log in again, reload manager page, clear cache... yes, this occurs EVERY time I do anything in the manager)

load page - all menus work

Upon reload, the first call disappears. Sub-submenu in main menu (child child) works.

Reload again, same.

Navigate to another page, sub-submenu is broken. Navigate back to page with Wayfinder calls, all menus are broken.
