I think it depends on what you mean by "integrate." I know of a couple of tricks for getting them to work together, such as displaying MODX content within your WP templates. There is also an importer that can import your WP posts into Articles, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're asking for.
There should be no trouble with installing MODX in a subdirectory.
Most things are possible with MODX, so if you're willing to do a bit of development it's likely you can accomplish whatever it is you want to do with WP.

You probably won't want to name the subdirectory modx. Especially if you're going to keep .htaccess pointing to the main wp site and any MODX content remains displayed in the url under the shopping.lk/modx url.
Whatever you do, give the subdirectory a unique name so that you hide the fact that there's a MODX installation behind the site. Some people out there like to look for stuff like that and try to do crappy things to your site.
Please clarify what you're thinking of when you say integrate. Are you saying that you want to keep the wordpress installation, use it as your site, but also have MODX run some pages? Or, opposite? What part of the wordpress install do you want to keep and use while also using MODX?
