I just installed Articles and have set up the sample templates. One for the, let's say, main site (Template), one for each article (Article Template) and one for the posts on the front page/archives (ArticleRowChunk).

I made several test articles but the one thing that doesn't seem to be working is the 'ArticleRowChunk'. I don't see any of the posts on the front page. I see the 'latest posts' on the right side, but no summary of posts on the front page.

It's like there is a call missing in the main template or something. But before I start digging through code for hours on end I'd like to know if anybody has any idea what might be going wrong. I mean, I didn't actually do anything other than install the package and set the templates. So it should work right?

I hope somebody can lend a helping hand.

      Maybe this will help you:

You can always try it again with the default templates for articles. [ed. note: Susann last edited this post 14 years, 3 months ago.]

That's the thing though, I am using the default templates.

The real issue is with the Article Row Chunk. I'm confused as to where it should show up. If we look at the documentation:

Article Row Chunk - The Chunk to use when displaying posts on the front page or archive pages. This will default to a sample provided Chunk.

My front page only shows my blog name, and my archive pages aren't even accessible. It's like the chunk isn't used by default and you need to set it up first.

I tried a new Articles install on a different modx site and it worked. Posts show up on my front page.

Tried reinstalling the Articles on my original modx site but that didn't fix the problem. My front page still only shows my blog name. Like it sees the blog-container-document like it's only article post.

            Working now.

Probably a version problem. Here's what I did:
            - update modx to 2.2.4
            - reinstall Articles
            - reinstall getResources
            - reinstall Quip
            - reinstall TagLister
            - reinstall Archivist
            - reinstall getPage

One more thing: if I install Articles it sets the templates to default. However, the default templates are different from the ones shown in the documentation. To be Specific, the sample.ArticleTemplate and sample.ArticlesContainerTemplate are in each others place.
