Alternative to friendly URL's

Hi

I am having problems getting friendly URL’s to work, but really all I want to do is change the system from having id= to having pageid= or page= instead, so Google does not think that it is a sesson id.

Is this possible/easy?
Could anyone help with advice on how to do this?

You can use the page= format by turning on FURLS then setting the prefix to index.php?page= and the suffix blank.

Whoops, spoke too soon, it just keeps bringing up the home page.

Was hoping to avoid having to use the .htaccess and rewrite but guess the issue is somewhere on this.

yes, you need to use the .htaccess too..
