My host has suexec on all the servers, so I had to create a php.ini file for a few of the MODx folders to turn off register globals. Here is my issue. The warning message in MODX went away, but my info.php file still shows that register-globals is on. Should I assume it’s on or off.

    Thanks

If you want to turn of registerglobals via custom .ini files, they have to be placed in every single directory.

Off-topic: That would make for a pretty useful module ... looping through the MODx directories to add a custom php.ini to each directory that needs one.

That would be a great module, because right now I am dreading going through all those directories.

It’s enough to make you switch hosts. Register globals being on honestly makes no sense and a lot of pain for folks trying to do things properly. If it had any redeeming qualities it would not be deprecated in the coming PHP 6.

I hear you, but I love hostgators service. So for now, I will just have to place that damn file in EVERY directory.
