Server nearly Freezing with phpthumbof

Hello togehter,

i'm running a site on a modx 2.2.2pl with some pictures from a gallery.
the pictures take ages to load and even if they are ready loaded and displayed the browser still shows a loading indicator.

after loading the site several times the server nearly freezes.

i've already tried phpthumbof-1.3.0-pl, phpthumbof-1.3.1-pl,phpthumbof-1.3.2-pl with out any different result.

btw. the webserver is running on nginx. pages without the use of gallery/phpthumbof are running fast and without any problems.

any one out there got a solution or idea where to start?

Do you have the phpthumbofcache plugin enabled? If so try disabling it.
