In a .95 install I have defined meta tags. When I go to the meta tags tab for a page and select them, then save the page they do not "stick", meaning the manager does not show them as selected and it does not parse the tags into the header of the page.
I’ve cleared the cache. Any other ideas for troubleshooting?
it does not parse the tags into the header of the page.
I don’t think MODx keywords are meant to be automatically copied into the HTML document header;
they are defined in the Database so that Snippets can work on them, either to create the <meta ...> thing you are asking about or to do other things:
Ditto (&keywords=’1’ etc) and
ListRelated are 2 good examples of this.
No, that is how they work. You define the meta tags under the Resources tab in the "manage meta... " area
Then you select the meta tags you want on each page in the Meta tab on the page area. after you save it parses them in the header. This works on every other .95 client site I’ve done. I just can’t figure out why it isn’t working now.
For some reason it is not saving which meta tags I’ve selected for each page.
oops you’re right, it’s working in my templates and I have never noticed it before now!
I must had totally overlooked the subject isince <meta keywords> are being considered pretty useless SEO and Accessibility -wise!
