How to implement search in Articles?

      Could you elaborate on what you're looking for? Could you explain what kind of search you're seeking to function in Articles. Is this on the front end or in the Articles UI? What's not working?

        Splittingred said some time ago that search built in sample templates in Articles is not working. Indeed, it doesn't work.
        So I've tried SimpleSearch and it searches (obviously) only content fields of MODX Resources, so it skips posts in Articles. As far as I know AdvSearch searches thru TV's but I don't know how to get it to search thru Articles' posts. [ed. note: khyrlik last edited this post 14 years, 3 months ago.]

          You will need to allow simple search to search in hidden resources. Articles resources are all hidden from menus. Be sure to have this setting: &hideMenu=`1` in your simple search call. This should work. You will likely need to set a number of resources to be excluded from the results as well.

                Hey Jay,
                I too thought that SimpleSearch couldn't search articles, until I read this post.
                It makes the choice for using Articles in a news/blog site in favor of regular resources the logical one.

                Maybe someone at the modx documentation team could update the http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/SimpleSearch page?
