    I have Revo 2.2.4 and Articles 1.6.1 installed. I'm able to import posts from wordpress but the author will always import as my admin user. I created a user with the same name as the original posts' author, logged in as that user, but they still import as author = my admin. I don't even see an option to edit the author in the manager. Any ideas?

    Thanks

      Are you using an extra to import the posts? I suspect that it looks for a user with the same username when importing and uses the admin if that user is not found. If that's the case, you'd have to create all the users (with the same usernames) before doing the import.

      It's also possible that the extra doesn't check at all and just leaves the createdby field blank, in which case, MODX would probably use the current user by default. If that's what's happening, the code of the extra would have to be modified, but the users would still have to be created in MODX before doing the import.

      The Batcher extra will let you change the author of multiple resources, but again, you'll have to create the users first.

        Hi Bob,
        I'm importing the posts with the Articles 1.6.1 Wordpress import feature. I created a user with the same name as the original author - then logged into that user and tried the import again. Still showing author as my main admin. I'll look into Batcher.

        Thanks

          I looked at the Articles code and Articles *does* try to find a MODX user with the same username as the author of each WP article.

          I'm not sure why that didn't work for you. I was wrong about Articles using the current user if the username is not found -- it uses the Admin Super User (ID: 1) as the default.

          This is the username coming from the WP DB:

          (string)$item->xpath('dc:creator'.'/text()'

            I don't know why it didn't work... But Batcher fixed it.

            Thanks again
