I'm trying to set up a bit of e-commerce.
System:
Revolution hosted on Dreamhost.
Products:
Products include objects that I ship (books, DVDs, etc.), as well as digital objects that I stream (if possible).
Payment options:
I should be able to hook it into my existing Paypal account. I'm not moving enough product to host my own solution (PCI-DSS? Ugh!), and my bank wants to charge me like $20/month to host one (they just don't get it that I'm a small potatoes guy). My current CMS offers an e-commerce solution that bundles the order up and ships all the product and calculated shipping data over to Paypal, who handles the actual collection of money info. So, I never have to have a secure site, because there's no money calculations on my end. I'd prefer that kind of flexibility.
Shipment options:
I have a USPS account, and it makes sense to me that whatever shopping system this would be would be able to hook into that to calculate shipping charges. My current system lets me specify the weight of all my products. Then, it hooks into the USPS database and calculates shipping costs as per the customer address. Then, all that data gets bundled together and sent on to the Paypal site.
I've been wrestling with VisionCart, but that seems too... premature.
Is there a current module that does the trick, here?
