    I know about output modifiers, but I guess I am doing something wrong. here is what I have.

    A TV named Quick Gallery linked to a template. With Albumlist drop down select and a default as the output.

    2 chunks first one:

    Named: QuickGalleryPage_tpl (which is being called in the particular spot I want the quick gallery to show up in on the template.)

    [[!Gallery? &album=`[[*QuickGallery?]]` &toPlaceholder=`gallery` &tpl=`QuickGalleryImage_tpl`]]
    <div class="leafimg">
    <p id="purpTitle">Quick Gallery</p>
    <p id="productDesc">Scroll through and click on images in use, of this product category. Or click on the gallery tab in the top menu to visit the full gallery pages. </p>
    </div>
    <div id="qgalleryplace">
    <div class="qgallerycapt"></div>
    <div class="qgallerywrap">
    <div id="slider">
    [[+gallery]]
    </div>
    </div>
    <div class="qgallerycapb"></div>
    </div>

    Then the Image call chunk:
    Named: QuickGalleryImage_tpl

    <a href="[[+image]] " class="galthumbpad" rel="colorbox"><img class="galleryrow" src="[[+thumbnail]]" alt="[[+name]]" /></a>

    This works great, however ever page that uses the template that the TV is linked to has one on it regardless of the tv being empty or not. How do I work it so that it only shows if there is a selection in the drop down of the resource for this TV.

    I am not sure If I worded this right or not. [ed. note: darwin last edited this post 14 years, 3 months ago.]

      Solved with IF
      here is what I put in the template.

      [[If? &subject=`[[*QuickGallery?]]` &operator=`isnotempty ` &then=`` &else=`[[$QuickGalleryPage_tpl?]]`]]
