No Setup. No reaction at »→ Test database server connection and view collations.«

    I cannot install MODX 2.2.3.
    I pushed the MODX folder to the server as I did several times before and started setup.
    I entered all db and login data and at least pushed the

    → Test database server connection and view collations.

    button to finish the installation but nothing happens. Nothing! No beach ball, no result prompts – nothing.

    So what did I do wrong? And how can I proceed to get MODX running?

        Have you tested your database connection outside of MODX? e.g. via phpMyAdmin or similar depending on your hosting environment.

        If that works ok then go into directory core/config/ and have a look at the file config.inc.php, at the top of this file there should be the database connection information. Make sure the details are filled in correctly, then try the installation again.

$database_user = 'dbUser;

          Config file was fine.
          I don't know, what the bug was, but I deleted the whole bunch and installed instead the brand new Revo v 2.2.4 and voilà – setup was smooth and easy again.

              Next time try to empty cache folder before upgrading.
