Hi! I hope someone can help me.
I’d like to use a tv that lets the website editors add a link to a page. So I’m using a tv with Input Type URL and the hyperlink widget. I’d like to add rel=’external’ to every hyperlink so it plays well with a piece of javascript I’m using. But when I put rel=’external’ in the attributes text field of the hyperlink widget, MODx outputs this on the page:
How can I make MODx stop escaping the quotation marks? I treid using html entities but that didn’t work out. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks for MODx - I love it!
Try using double quotes instead. Single quoted HTML tags aren’t good practice to use IMO.
I agree, so that’s what I tried first
Didn’t work either, they’re being escaped with backslashes as well. Also, the hyperlink widget generates single quotes for the other attributes, too (title, href). The validator doesn’t complain about that, by the way, so I don’t think it’s that big a deal.
Thanks for MODx - I love it!
Ah, I feared that would be the case. Thanks for reporting it, I hope it’ll be fixed soon

Yay! I downloaded and installed the patch - works like a charm. Thanks!
