I get 2 errors in a 2.2.2 installation, wondering what they indicate and how to get rid of them:
(ERROR @ /index.php) `[[+resource]]` is not a valid integer and may not be passed to makeUrl()
and
(INFO @ /index.php) Principal 0 does not have permission to load object of class modDocument with primary key: 28
any ideas what causes them, how to track them down and how to fix them?

The most likely cause is that some snippet or plugin is calling $modx->makeUrl() with the first argument empty. It should be the resource ID, so the code is failing to get the resource ID before calling makeUrl().
You could try disabling the plugins and snippets one-by-one until it goes away to narrow it down.
Do the plugins first, by checking the disabled box when editing them. Disable the snippets by putting a space between the opening brackets. [ [.

This happens on a clean install, no extras or anything installed... I noticed it happening on all the recent 2.2.2 installations.

Where, exactly, are you seeing the message? During the install? On the screen when you log it? In the error log?

ok - the "Principal 0 does not have permission" error, looks like just info, I can replicate it by having a user log in and out, browse around a bit... the objects that are not loaded are resources restricted to specific user groups. if the logged in user does not have access [or anonymous user] then the error is thrown... looks like wayfinder would be tripping it.
the "+resource is not a valid integer" is still a mystery...
