Media Sources and Permissions

I'm working on setting up user permissions and access policies and I'm running into a snag with Media Sources.

I've built a user group and policies for a Site Managers Group and limited file access to a sub folder with MSs. I have the media source setup for this directory and then I limit the main filesystem to only the Administrators group. Between group access, form customization and the Media Sources I have achieved what I need for the Site Managers group.

However this is my problem. When I log into the site as a Site Manager and select a resource to edit and choose Template Variables the drop down boxes are missing from the image tvs and the selected image is gone. (see attached image) I have narrowed this down to the media source permissions because when I remove the Group Access from the Filesystem MS all is fine with the world. The default MS is always the Filesystem MS and I believe this default selection is causing the problem, but not 100% sure. I read that in 2.3 or 2.4 there is going to be a selection process for the default MS. However I am having this problem now and if that is the root of the issue I'd love to get verification so I can find a work around until the default setting is added in.

Can someone please verify this for me or let me know what I am not doing correctly. I have spent several days on this and read every single thing I can find on Media Sources without finding a fix.

I guess 50 doesn't get you much, can't be a paranthropus till things get rolling, can't get things rolling without being a paranthropus

As usual I figure out the answer soon after posting, tenacity pays dividends. For anyone who runs into this issue you have to also go into the individual TVs and add them to the Media Source, problem solved. Otherwise you hit a dead end and the new MS and associated group cannot update said TVs.
