[SOLVED] Advanced Install Connection Blank Error

When doing an advanced installation I'm completing the "Connection Information" screen for the database info, however it always returns the follow JSON:



PHP 5.3
mySQL 5.1.x
ModX Revo: 2.2.2-pl

Both apache modules for php53-mysql [5.3.3-7] and php53-pdo [5.3.3-7] are installed.

Note that if I drop to the shell and issue the connection information the same I'm able to authenticate and get access to the database. Also tried using the various host names (localhost, 127.0.0.1, public id, etc) still no change in message.

Any pointers to get more information as to why it's not connecting?

Hi Charless, It sounds like you do not have the correct information for your host name, preventing your "correct" DB connection info from getting read and used.

I had tried all valid host names including machine, FQDN, localhost, IP Based (127.0.0.1 and the public IP)

Anything else you can tell us about the environment? What are you doing custom with this install as well?

Thought I should officially close this and update.

In the end it was a permission issue with the config.inc.php file not being updated during the setup/upgrade process. If I manually set the configuration then it seemed to function properly. (from memory).

This is actually on a tier-3 build out of revolution with a split web-front end for the actual end user and manager services. That is where the permissions started getting a little confused I believe, so once I reapplied the permissions and ensure all the group rights I've been able to work through it.
