    Hi

I am pulling my hair out with this one, so hopefully someone can shed some light on it

Here is what i am trying to do:

create a member login area. There will be a large number of users on the site, each will only have access to 1 or two different static resources. What I rally want to do is relate static resources individually to users so when they log into the members area thhey just see a list of the resources attributed to them.

I realise I can set up multiple user groups, but it seems very inefficient to create a user group for each user (ie 1 user in each group).

There must be a better way to do this? Can anyone help?

    Many thanks

    Ally

There are many ways to do this and solution depends on situation...

          1.approach
Assign resource ids (ones he can see) to users (i.e. in extended fields). When someone tries to open resource, check if he has that ids assigned to him.

          2.approach
Develop custom table in which you can save resource id<->user id relation

          3.approach
Assign TV to resource in which you can select users

          ...

Thank you so much for your reply.

I was looking into the first aproach you have mentioned. Is this a secure way of doing things?
