corrupt links after save

After saving a link in the editor it gets corrupted with multiple slashes.

and so on.
I turned off tinymce editor, but problem persisted. Finally I made a chunk with the link and placed id in the resource, but chunk also got corrupted after saving.
I updated to the newest Evo with no effect. could be corrupt config.inc.php, as it was not updated, but I cannot figure out how is it corrupted.
As a side note, this started about the time site (and other sites I am editing) was moved to the new server. I happens on all other sites with Evolution, but the one that has Revolution does not have this problem.

Sorry for posting about common problem. I was looking for similar posts but could not find them.
This solves teh problem - probably the old server had magic quotes off, and new one had them on.
The community of people like you makes Modx so great!
