Hi,
When I try to save a resource I always need to do it twice before it works. I try to save it once, and it gets stuck , the modal window "saving" shows but nothing happens, I then have to refresh the page , go over the changes I made again and then save again ... any idea as to why this could be happening (i tried with clearing cache, flushing all sessions , delete browsing history ...nothing changes)

What version of MODX? What plugins are enabled? Did you check the error log for anything?
When the saving modal doesn't disappear, it means there's a fatal php error which is killing the ability of the manager javascript to decode whatever went wrong. In the latest revo (2.2.2) it will dump the complete output (including the error, typically) onto the screen in a popup. Before that you will need to use developers tools (Firebug / Chrome Dev Tools) to inspect the ajax request to the resource/index connector and see what the error is.
