But every single one user have to get them working together on his own. I think designation of MODX as developer's best CMS impacts too much quality of it's development.
What i meant was that MODx needs people to read the "how-to" manual before they can start working on their content.
With Joomla, Drupal or e107 all you have to do is to navigate in the menus (no need to read any manual)..
I agree qith you and it's
no problem at all with having to learn a bit and it's not simple, easy, 'just fill the fields' box.
But:
- MODX could be released as such 'almost ready' package, much of the work is done already (extras, etc). Problems that exist: Buggy extras, low quality control on releases, some important bugs are long time unfixed, no making sure that every important extra works together; There is no complete working startup package - even a developer would appreciate this, not because it needs such site but for a smooth introduction to MODXing. At the moment MODX is not 'trustable'. You can't get it and be sure that everything works. You have to check it by yourself or spend days on working working and working to some basic site ready. Every new to MODX developer have to do the same work again and again. What for ?
- Being CMS for developers shouldn't mean that a developer
have to do many things by himself. Developer
can do if it needs to and this is the way to gain popularity. As of now phrase 'MODX is for developers' is excuse for many things in MODX that go wrong like bugs, low quality of code, poor documentation, no mid and advanced tutorials, etc.
- Slogans are misleading. They look like Bill Gates welcoming you to Microsoft and promising that you will be CEO at some day but after signing contract it appears that you start in call center.
