Just wanted to save someone else the trouble...
If you are using the Login Add-On along with jQuery Mobile, make sure to add an additional atribute to your form tag prevent AJAX submit:
<form class="loginLoginForm" action="[[~[[*id]]]]" method="post" data-ajax="false">
I was successfully logging in & the correct content was getting rendered, however I was not actually getting redirected - only the content was getting changed. Add the "data-ajax" attribute, and all is well.
