On the article page there are no "latest comments" in the sidebar
<h3>Latest Posts</h3>
<ul>
[[+latest_posts]]
</ul>
</div>
[[+comments_enabled:is=`1`:then=`
<h3>Latest Comments</h3>
<ul>
[[+latest_comments]]
</ul> `]]
<h3>Tags</h3>
[[+tags]]
<h3>Archives</h3>
[[+archives]]
On the container page it's even worse, here tags, archive and latest comments stay empty in the sidebar
<h3>Latest Posts</h3>
<ul>
[[+latest_posts]]
</ul>
[[+comments_enabled:is=`1`:then=`
<h3>Latest Comments</h3>
<ul>
[[+latest_comments]]
</ul>`]]
<h3>Tags</h3>
[[+tags]]
<h3>Archives</h3>
[[+archives]]
All other things work like they should work.
Anybody with the same experience?

All other Article functions work like they should do.

Sommige mensen hebben aan een half woord genoeg
Got the same problem, everything works fine, only the latest comments are completely empty
Already tried to place this above the latest comments:
[[!Articles? &container=`ID OF CONTAINER`]]
And also tried to call the comments in Quip, but it doesn't seem to work.
Don't believe anything you read on the net. Except this.
Try re-saving the article. If it works after saving it's a bug that's fixed in 2.2.2
I have got the same problem, just updated articles to 1.6.1 and now latest comments is coming up blank. QuipLatestComments, Articles snippet, latest_comments placeholder none of them work now. I am using 2.2.2.
I have totally removed and reinstalled quip, archivist, taglister, getresources and still I can't get latest comments to work using QuipLatestComments or standard latest_comments placeholder. This only started when upgrading Articles to 1.6.1 using Modx 2.2.2
I don't use Articles on another website and updating Quip to the latest version made QuipLatestComments dissapear here also. The problem isn't related to the Articles package that's for shore, on this site it was never present.
Somewere in updating Quip lies a cause for this buggy behaviour.
Removing the Quip package totaly and reinstaling a older version 2.3.0 worked for me.
Now QuipLatestComments is working.
On a site where i used Articles i did the same thing and there it solved the issue also.
So Articles or No Articles, Somewere in upodating Quip lies a prob.
Strangly on both websites in the package management interface an knob for update is missing in the Quip record now. Strange because we know there is a newer version.
Maby this is related?
Any way removing the Quip package totaly and reinstaling a older version 2.3.0 worked for me.

Well it seems that most of us have this problem. Something is definitely wrong with Quip 2.3.1 but I don't know exactly where the problem is located ... I'll keep on searching ...
Is this problem reported at tracker.modx.com?

Got this working thanks to this bug document:
http://tracker.modx.com/issues/8127
add
$stripTags = $this->getProperty('stripTags',true);
to line 70
core / components / quip / controllers / web / LatestComments.php

Thank you very, very much. That worked perfectly and just in time for testing comments. How did I get so lucky this morning? :~}
