    Hi all,
I searched the forum to find the answer to this, and surprisingly, I didn’t find it.

On a client’s site, I’m having trouble uploading large files, anything over 2M.

I’ve adjusted the file upload limit in the configuration. The folders I’m trying to upload to say "directory writable". I’m able to upload large files fine via FTP. Most of the folders have permissions of 777, not exactly what I would do, but should allow uploads fine.

Because FTP works fine, I can get around this, but it’s preferable for the client to use the Manager. I don’t have access to something like CPanel, so I can’t see details of the server configuration. On my own sites, I have no trouble uploading through the Manager at all.

Weird, isn’t it? My guess is that maybe their host has some kind of limitation on HTTP uploads. What do you think?

    Thanks!!!!!!

      Afaik there’s a php limitation in php.ini. I think it’s ’upload_max_filesize’.

Yes, in your php.ini, see post_max_size and upload_max_filesize. Then also check if apache’s httpd.conf has php_admin_value upload_max_filesize or php_admin_value post_max_size, they are the same thing.

Indeed, the default php.ini setting limits file transfers to 2MB.

            Everybody,
Great answers... that must be it! Although I’ve had a bunch of hosts (some pretty lousy), I’ve never run into a 2M limit before.

I’ll pass your thoughts along to the owner of the account. Best of all, no limits had anything to do with MODx! smiley

I knew you folks would come though!
            Thanks!
