    Hello everyone.

I have a problem which I was hoping someone here could help me out with. A couple of months ago I started a final project with two other friends of mine at Copenhagen Technical Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark. In short we redesigned the website for the Avenuehotel in Copenhagen and persuaded them to switch to MODxCMS as their content management system.

We set everything up on a test server that I own and can be seen here.

After a encountering a few problems we managed to get everything up and running and we got the second highest mark possible for our project.

For our examination I copied everything to a school server so that the school could make sure that everyone was playing fair.

Now, a couple of weeks later, it’s time to move everything to the server owned by the hotel. I did what I had done earlier, changed the config file, edited the tables in the database, imported the database to the new server and gave the access rights that are needed. However, all I get is a blank page. I have tried to edit or change what I can think could be causing this but nothing come to mind.

Can anyone here help me out or guide me in the right direction ?

The server I am trying to export to is run by the same company as runs www.digitalprojects.dk (our testing server) so there shouldn’t be any incompatibility issues; I mean both servers are the same.

Hope someone here can help me out.

    Kind regards,

    /Johnny

There’s so many things that could be wrong. They could have a different server build. Some files may be corrupted in the copy. The config file could be pointed to the wrong database/paths ... etc. Does the manager even work?

Have you tried clearing the site cache? If you copied the cache files from the development server, they may include info that doesn’t work on the new server (and that could cause a blank page). If you can’t even get into the manager to clear the cache, try overwriting them with the original files from the MODx download.

Thanks for suggestions. I figured out the problem and of course it was a silly little error that I should have foreseen.

When I exported the database I forgot to rename it in the backup file before I imported the tables through phpMyAdmin.

But it works now and everything was imported successfully.

          Kind regards,

          /Johnny
