I'm trying to integrate some homebrewed information into a menu point, but I can't seem to find a good resource on how ModEXT integrates itself with whatever component is being developed. I'm aware of the "Doodles" tutorial making use of ModEXT, but I'm not looking for a full-blown packaging deal, I just want to be able to make quick and dirty use of ModEXT on my database output.

Anyone got a good resource? I've been looking for days for something that could explain the process.

Not really, I've looked at it countless times. The issue is not so much with MODExt itself (or EXTjs) the problem is how MODExt integrates with the models that are running in the core/components part of the site.
How does the manager part activate the different parts of MODExt, and get the data from the appropriate component for displaying in the manager? I simply cannot find a resource that explains how it works.

It would be a good idea to go back in and have a look at the Doodles tutorial, part 2 in particular deals with putting together a CMP using a MODExt Grid with CRUD functionality. It explains exactly how MODExt is integrated with processors to get at and modify your data. You don't need to go on to part 3 at all.

Even if it's more than you're really looking for, taking a bit of time to understand how it all works will give you a better idea of how to cut it down to the 'quick and dirty.'

Also, have a look at core/modx/modprocessor.class.php - it's an invaluable reference for all the functions available in the new class-based processors.

Thx Lucas. I've been staring at the doodles tutorial until my eyes bled for a good while now, but I guess that at this point I might not have any other choice than getting the info from that. It just includes vastly more functionality that I need, and I might not be good enough with Modx yet to "cut away the fat", but I guess it's the only way to go about it.

            Thx anyways.
