Evo Web Users to Revo

Everything I have read about migrating from evo to revo is somewhat old, so forgive me if this topic has been covered.

I have a client that I really want to migrate to revo, and I don't mind doing it manually. However, they have a tone of registered members, and these are the kinds of folks who really believe their shit doesn't stink. So I can't have them re-register (as they can't be bothered), and I don't want to have to do it myself by hand.

Is there a solution out there?

You could write a snippet to import them, but it would be tricky because Revo passwords no longer use MD5 (though they can be forced to).

One solution would be to use Provisioner, which will move users, resources, and elements, from Evo to Revo. The down side is that Provisioner doesn't work with the current versions of either Evo or Revo.

This would be a pain, but it should work:

Install an older version of Evo
Import the users into it in PhpMyAdmin
Create a new install of an older version of Revolution
Install Provisioner in Revolution and the Provisioner gateway in Evo
Move the Users (and anything else you want)
Update Revo to the current version.

If you go to the MODX downloads page, there's a tab for older versions.
I think Provisioner will work with Revo 2.0.x, but I'm not sure what version of Evo it wants.

I did this with almost no trouble for Bob's guides, although I didn't move users because I'm the only one.

Actually, that sounds a lot easier than the alternative. Thanks, Bob. I do have one question. Is there a particular reason you move the users via phpmyadmin? Provisioner claims to be able to handle users as well as the rest.

No, I just didn't bother to move myself over because there was no point. I already existed at the new site.

No, I was referring to your instructions about exporting the users in phpmyadmin. I thought that could all be done with provisioner.

Well, using evo 1.0.5 and revo 2.1.5 I can get resources/templates/chunks moved with Provisioner quite nicely. I can also see the evo users in the component window, but I can't them imported to revo. Am I missing something? I don't even see an option to import the users.

I can right click and import the user from the provisioner component window. I also installed pbkdf2convert, and everything looks good in the tables (for the few users I imported). I still need a way to import them all at once, as this site has 700 members.

Update

This is useless. The right click and import method does import the user, but the use is set as blocked and the password doesn't work. So I would then need to go in by hand and mark all uses as not blocked. I also have to manually change the password or have them do it. That is not an option.

Also, I get the same results with and without pbkdf2convert installed.
