Currently I am using MODX 1.0.6. When any page is edited using the TinyMCE editor and later saved. Bad HTML markup is entered. For instance:
When HTML currently exists in the editor:
    <p><img class="right photo" src="assets/images/someImage.JPG" alt="Some Alt Text" width="300" /> </p>
    <h2>Location</h2>

It is converted into bad HTML
    <p><img class=\"right photo\" src=\"assets/images/someImage.JPG\" alt=\"Some Alt Text\" width=\"300\" /> </p>
    <h2>Location</h2>

It appears to be using the forward slash to escape double quotes. This happens if changes are made directly into TinyMCE and then saved or if your change the drop down select to switch between TinyMCE to none prior to saving. Oddly, if you click the HTML link in the editor, the pop-up window will not show the converted text. But if you do save the content the conversion occurs.

At first I thought it some type of bug and so I upgraded ModX from 1.0.5 to 1.0.6 but that didn't change anything. I currently run three different ModX web sites however, this is only occurring to one of the sites.

Has anyone else experienced this and do you have suggestions to the what is causing this?

    Environment Info:
    MySQL: 5.1.54
    PHP: 5.3.10
    Shared Hosting Environment
ModX: 1.0.6 [ed. note: bigTHEW last edited this post 14 years, 5 months ago.]

The web server's PHP is configured with "magic_quotes_gpc" set to On. You need to find out how to turn it Off.
