Hi folks, I'm on the learning curve here. I've read tons of stuff about what to set, which permissions need changed, etc. I've done those things as far as I have been able but the latest problem continues to read the same, "Could not load MODX config file. Every config file at this point is writable, unless there's another to miss. I'm sure this is normal, but I'm not sure what to try next? Thanks! this package looks promising.

Have you followed the instructions here http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Basic+Installation ? Especially this line
After you've downloaded MODx Revolution, start the install process by loading your web browser and running the setup script by navigating to the setup/ folder.

Hi sottwell, yes, I've been working through those instructions. The first time I did that I got the page to choose the language. After that it has opened to some error screen as it does things and encounters problems with my site settings. I'm new to this so what it needs is not always obvious to me.

I did lots of reading, then made changes to various folder permissions. The error screens changed. Got stumped and called my Host's tech who helped me find and correct several basic site settings. More changes to the error screens.

Currently loading the install page goes to the error about not loading the MODX config.

The config files are all "writable".

              Thanks, Larrybqd

For anyone who can help... Managed to get the config file to load, so no more environment errors. Created config files, .htaccess files, and php.ini files. When I use the browser to visit the install location and attempt to continue installing, it has now moved to showing a white page that is blank...

In case its needed, I'm attempting to install MODX Revo 2.2.2, new install in a Linux environment, new site on shared hosting.

                thanks!
