I can change the template for my Articles container to my standard site template, but the articles template won't change. I select a different template under Article Template. It shows the change change while looking here in the manager at the blog container. Dandy. But then when I clear the cache and go view a blog post, it still uses the default sample template.

I can edit the sample.ArticleTemplate and the changes are reflected no matter what template I tell it to use.

Any ideas what the problem could be? I clear the cache, try different templates, delete the files from the cache folder, and still it's always the same default sample template.

Solved, but another bit of curious behavior...

So I was silly and didn't realize that changing the Article template in the Articles Container would only apply to new articles. The existing articles had a template applied when created and now can be changed individually to whatever template. I also did as the manual said and adjusted the system setting to change the default templates for both of these, which will apply to new Articles Containers.

Super. Now, when I tested importing articles I left the checkbox set to apply the blog's template to the incoming articles. So I'm curious why modx chooses to apply the Articles Container template to the incoming singular articles? I would expect that the it should apply the Article template instead. Oh, well, not a big deal, but I feel like I'm missing something.
