Answered "Activation key does not match"

i cannot reset my password. the reset link does not work. i get "Activation key does not match".

what should i do?

Thanks, I'm familiar with that backend password reset. It would be awesome if there was a fix for the frontend password reset.

Backend and frontend users are the same, just with different access permissions

The only password reset feature I know is the one at the manager login screen. What other reset method are you referring to? If you mean the database method, I'm hoping for a fix to the frontend reset.

login into different browser, because u are probably logged in with admin

Tried with different browser. Same problem. How could I be logged in as admin, if i cannot login?

Note, now when I try to login, I'm getting "You have been blocked from the manager by an administrator." How did that happen?

Here's my post again:

As a last resort, you can always create another install of MODX (or use one you have already) where you know the username and password, then go into PhpMyAdmin for both sites and cut and paste the working username and password, hash, method, and salt into the appropriate line of the modx_users table at the problem site.

Once you've done that, the username and password for both sites will be the same for whatever user you did this for. Since you know the username and password on the other site, you can now log in to the problem site with the same username and password.
