    Hi,

There`s a few places I could have posted this - e business, users, authentication, etc etc - however I posted it here with the hopes of getting the experience of a larger number of users. I`m having a dilemma. I have a website I am converting to modX (I LOVE it so far) and it is a membership website. I`m trying to figure out what the best way to deal with the membership side of it is aMember with modX or FoxyCart.

I have found aMember is allegedly implemented with modX via some plugins they have, however, I also am planning on adding some physical products fairly quickly and as far as I know aMember is useless to me in this regard. So that would leave me with aMember, FC, and modX. I like to keep things as simple as possible and dislike that idea of using those 3 platforms.

So - I`m hoping you guys can provide me with some direction. First, is it possible to create membership sites and run them smoothly using FoxyCart... my structure will probably look something like this.

    1. Guest - can view lots of pages, as well as teasers on many pages of the site.
    2. Free Member - some teasers removed, replaced with actual content. Some info not accessible still.
    3. Paid member - my favorite - has full access to everything.

Now with FoxyCart I need recurring billing capability. So that means FC has to...

    1. After purchase update membership permissions
    2. On failed purchase, downgrade membership permissions, send email
    3. On cancelled purchase, downgrade member (to a free membership).

I`m also using aWeber for my email list management, and I believe it has an inbound api that should be relatively straightforward.

So my question is - does anyone have any experience doing this, or is it even doable. I like the foxycart idea as it isn`t limited merely to one task (membership management). I like aMember, because it does such invaluable things such as drip content to all of my members, based on signup date - i.e. same content is given to each new subscriber so many days after the subscription... it seems very professional that way. However, I am willing to use foxycart combined with my autoresponder (aweber) to provide the dripped content via email - as I don`t believe there is any kind of drip content available with modX.

Is what I`m looking for possible with modX

    Pointers anyone please!

    Greg
