I'm new to modx and I have a request form on my website that emails me the info that the user fills out. But I am getting error: Main mail: Mailer was unable to send mailCould not instantiate mail function

    My code is below:

    [!eForm? &formid=`FreeSurveyForm` &to=`[email protected], [email protected] ` &tpl=`FreeSurveyForm` &report=`FreeSurveyEmail`&report=`FreeSurveyEmail` <a href="mailto:&from=`[email protected]'</a> &thankyou=`FreeSurveyRequestSuccess` &subject=`Free Security Survey Request`!]

you pasted code has some html in it which shouldn't be in the call, but it probably wouldn't give the error you mention, that is more likely an issue on your hosting - has this ever worked?

Just in case that is the issue, change the code to read
      [!eForm? &formid=`FreeSurveyForm` &to=`[email protected], [email protected]` &tpl=`FreeSurveyForm` &report=`FreeSurveyEmail` &from=`[email protected]' &thankyou=`FreeSurveyRequestSuccess` &subject=`Free Security Survey Request`!]

My guess would be the issue is with the server settings
try to send a password reminder to yourself from the login screen
If that works at least you know the mail function on the server works.
If this doesn't work then assume the problem is on the server rather than within MODx
