    Hi,

I'm very new to ModX, (I'm just editing some content on a site for a client).
All very straightforward so far, but the changes I'm making to templates, pages, site settings - anything in the CMS Manager aren't being saved to the database. I hit save, then I get this error message...

Warning: unlink(/home/nightbri/public_html/assets/cache/docid_9.pageCache.php) [function.unlink]: Permission denied in /home/nightbri/public_html/manager/processors/cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 67

Warning: fopen(../assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/nightbri/public_html/manager/processors/cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 226
    Cannot open file (../assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php)

... the the changes appear to have been made, but a quick check of the database tables confirms nothing has happened, and the site still looks exactly the same. I've tried changing the permissions of the file specified in the error messages, with no luck.

I'm using Modx Evolution 1.0.3 Rev 6653. Any help would be great.

Sounds like your assets/cache folder/files are either not writeable (777 or 755 chmod) or are the wrong user.

Thanks, I just tried changing the permissions with no luck. There's only one user setup with administrator rights. Is there anything else it could be?

          Hi there,

Did you do what Bunk said?
MODx can't read your cache file, this is the problem.
          CHMOD the dir to 777:
          /assets/cache/

            Yes I've already done that.

Maybe the host has changed something regarding owner & group permissions.
Did they recently upgrade PHP and change some security settings?
