PHP Libraries Question...

Does anyone know (or know of any documentation regarding) what PHP 5 Libraries need to be installed in order to efficiently run MODx? Also any other server tweaks that could help us optimize. We are running out of memory on a server primarily dedicated to MODx sites and are looking to trim down libraries. Please help, thanks for any heads up tips.

If you remove libraries that Modx isn’t using, how does that help to reduce memory? Unless by "memory" you mean "disk space"

As its been explained to me, as long as a library has been loaded, it is in memory. Is this accurate?

My first question would be, are we discussing MODx dependencies on PHP extensions that are compiled (or dynamically loaded) into PHP, or libraries of code written in PHP?

Exactly my point. If he’s asking about PHP libraries, it’s a moot point since if modx doesn’t use them, they’re not eating up any RAM anyway

More to the point robot - if you’re looking at reducing RAM usage on your web server, then the PHP libraries used should be way down on your list. You should look at webserver and application level optimizations first.
