I’ve read through the documentation, albeit somewhat quickly, and was wondering if there was something a bit more generalized or like an over view of all the different components and how they interrelate.
This framework seems to do a great deal of things - But I’m hoping there is more of an overview in a big picture way so that I can quickly understand how things get done.
I’ve coded in many languages (c, assembler, cobol ,php ,ksh, etc on multiple platforms) know the basic of web development, but haven’t utilized an extensive framework such as this before - always done it all myself.
So I’d like to know the way things are done or relate so that i don’t accidentally start coding down the wrong path and have to trash everything after mucho hours of work.

My basic concept is a web site for "debating".
Basically there is a "deliberation" that someone posts.
When they post a deliberation, they assign 2+ deliberation options (for a statement like "the sky is blue" the options could be "true" or "false".
A deliberation can also be spawned from one user by another user and additional options added/modified/eliminated.
for instance Fred could spawn a deliberation based on "the sky is blue", and add/override the options to be "true", "false", and "Depends on time of day".
Each user can then "weight" the options and the overall deliberation gets a rating applied.

there is a lot more depth to it then just this - but this is the general concept. For instance users would have "credibility" ratings.

Any guidance to help determine if MODx is the best solution would be helpful.

    Thanks.
