I'm attempting to get ditsnews-0.2.0-alpha3 up and running on Revolution 2.2.0-pl2.
I have a test site setup with this configuration and more than one modx install on the host. The one I'm testing Ditsnews on is in a subdirectory on the server.
I got everything setup per the documentation no problems. They're easy enough to follow and I got all my chunks, resources, redirects template, and test newsletter in with a test group.
I can add users to the list from the manager no problem and I have the cron job setup in Cpanel.
NOW the problem is getting it running. I can't get the newsletter to send first off. I have tried visiting the cron.php file in my browser, which I read is supposed to fire the job and it does not. I looked up the instructions for crons for my host and what's listed in the documentation and here is what I am using:
php -q home/user/public_html/path/to/sub/directory/core/components/ditsnews/cron/cron.php
This isn't working.
The other thing is the form. I have it all up and in place on the home page. When I try to add a user from the front end it doesn't work. With the default setup I fill out the form and hit send and I get redirected to the modx install at my url root. I read in another post for Ditsnews 0.1 a1 a suggestion to take the:
out of the form action and just leave it as:
which I did.
After doing that I get redirected to the home page of my test site, which is better, but not to the resource I have set in the Ditsnews chunk, which is wrong. Besides this any user I add from the front end does not get added to the manager list and there is no confirmation email sent.
So that's basically where I'm at with it. Any help is appreciated!
