Getting ready to undertake a new site for a new client, and they are wanting to feature their calendar pretty extensively. I typically use MODX as my go-to CMS of choice, but the calendar addons are a bit lacking. Any thoughts from anyone on calendar solutions that play nice with Revolution? I'm familiar with Church Events and mxCalendar (the latter is apparently buggy as hell?) and was curious if anyone had any other suggestions. Thanks in advance - cheers!
Bump - anyone out there? Doesn't have to be an addon, but looking for something pretty functional and easy to manage (this site will be handed over to the client following development, and they're not code savvy at ALL).

Hello,
Could you elaborate on the mxCalendar issues, and what features you are needing from the calendar?
I would also be interested. I need a (Revo) calendar for a client and it needs to be easy to use, and to display in both list format and calendar format (being sortable by event type would be handy, too). Is mxCalendar ready for the real world? What about EventsX?
Thanks for any suggestions!
AMDbuilder - from what I understand about mxCalendar, it actually has most the features that I require, but from the literature I've read and the forum posts, it seems that it is relatively hard to keep stable if anything other than default features are added. Stability and ease of use are of utmost importance for my clients, as they're pretty capable of mucking up even the most basic of installs.
The only features that are missing (that I see at the moment) are the ability to add calendar feeds from external calendars via RSS and/or iCal, and the ability to add/edit events on the front end.
Also desirable (but not necessary - would just be nice) is integration with a calendar frontend like Adam Shaw's Jquery FullCalendar, due to its VERY well done UI.

You might want to give mxCalendar a try, I participated in the beta and found it to be reasonably stable. The lack of documentation (due to be in development) was slightly annoying, but not difficult to overcome.
I suspect you could accomplish the RSS/iCal feed using the list view and some custom templates. The only drawback is a lack of frontend editing at this point in time.
I haven't used EventsX so I have no comment on that front.
Will definitely give it a shot. It seems to be the most full featured of the bunch, and the developer has told me that most of the features that I'm seeking are in his development roadmap.
The main thing I'm concerned with is the timeline - may just have to hire a back-end dev to accomplish what I need using mxCalendar as a starting point. Thanks for your suggestions!
Ridgeofdemolition - I've been tooling around with mxCalendar for a few days now and it definitely seems to provide what you were after.
Thanks for letting me know... I have looked at it a few times now, and as AMDbuilder mentioned, the documentation is underwhelming but will see what develops. Cheers!
If you have any questions about implementation, let me know. The stuff you mentioned (list view, calendar view & sortable by category) are all supported in the standard install of the module. Charles, the creator is also incredibly helpful.
