Hi
<Newbie alert>
Have just upgraded from 0.9.5 to 0.9.6 but am having a problem understanding how to install an editor (actually FCK)
First I uploaded the files from the repository to assets/plugins/fckeditor243 but this didn’t work.
Then I ran an install again, but still nothing.
Then re-reading the page on the repository I uploaded the files to the root as it says and re-ran the install.
Still no good, and now I have neither FCK or TinyMCE - no editor at all.
What is the best way to install an editor - do you have to do a complete re-install every time, or am I missing something here?
Grateful for any guidance,
Mark

Check to make sure the appropriate events are checked in the Resources>Manage Resources>Plugins>Tiny/FCK/System Events tab.
For Tiny (and FCK is probably the same) the following events should be checked: OnRichTextEditorInit, OnRichTextEditorRegister, OnInterfaceSettingsRender.

Thanks Ryan, appreciate the fast reponse.
That worked brilliant for TinyMCE, although I am still not seeing FCK as an option to choose from, so part of my problem still stands in the sense of how do you install FCK correctly, do you have to do a full re-install (which didn’t work for me) or is there another way to add FCK to an existing site.
P.S. I wouldn’t bother if it wasn’t the promise of the page linking snippet in resources.
Regards
Mark

I think you’ll honestly soon find that Tiny butchers code much less than FCK does, though some folks still prefer FCK for some of it’s advanced layout tools. FCK has not been looked at remotely as much as Tiny, so you may be on your own there. You’ll need to open a support topic in the FCK section for more assistance.
