Hi I just did a fresh install with Modx 2.2.1pl (Traditional) through ssh wget and got through the installation just fine but cant see the manager.

I see the login page just fine but once logged in I get the manager dashboard with no styling.

It's weird 'cause if I refresh many times I do get the actual backend but can't see anything to the right of the resource tree.

    I'm attaching both screenshots.

I've refreshed my browser and erased cache. Should I delete all and reinstall? or is this something that can be fixed? I've looked in the forums for someone with a similar problem with no success.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try turning off compress_css and compress_js and then emptying the cache.
Since your manager is not working the first two settings will have to done in the database (in the modx_system_settings table) and the latter done by deleting the whole core/cache directory.

this may work or might not - but is fairly easy to do

          Yes! thank you kindly.

Turning off compress_css, compress_js and emptying core/cache did the trick.

Again thanks for the heads up, I see now there was a similar post https://forums.modx.com/thread/?thread=72961&page=2, but I guess I was doing a different search that's why I didn't stumble across it.

          Cheers.

Search - I have not found the forum search to be very successful, a Google (or whatever) seems to work better. In this case I happened to read this thread and the other one at about the same time - so I didn't really do a search!

Yeah me too, I usually start with google, but in this case you gave me the tools on what to search for, so I googled "compress_css compress_js" and found the other thread. I'm sure I wouldn't have found it otherwise.

              Thanks again whistlemaker.

We're going to be working on that soon and hopefully making it more useful. wink
